Volunteer

As one of Australia’s largest volunteer organisations the Liberal Party relies on its supporters to spread its message and to provide the on-the-ground, grassroots presence a political party needs to be successful. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of volunteers the Liberal Party has been able to play a positive and active role in Australian politics for more than 60 years.

The Liberal Party values its volunteers – people who give up their time because they believe in the common values of the Liberal Party. Values like individual freedom, enterprise, reward for effort and a strong, secure Australia. Unlike the Labor Party, the Liberal Party does not use union muscle or pay people to man polling booths, take part in letterbox drops or doorknock local neighbourhoods. Liberal Party volunteers are everyday people who want to play a role because they believe in something, not because they’re being paid.

There are lots of different ways you can help the Liberal Party, including:

  • distributing brochures in your neighbourhood
  • handing out ‘how-to-vote’ cards at elections
  • being part of a local campaign team in your area
  • making phone calls to voters and doorknocking your local area
  • helping to hold listening posts with candidates and MPs
  • putting up a poster in your front yard or property
  • assisting with fundraising events

Volunteering for the Liberal Party in Victoria helps to shape not only the future of the state, but also the future of Australia. Getting involved is easy – to express your interest in becoming a Liberal Party volunteer simply send us an email at libs@vic.liberal.org.au, or become a member of the Liberal Party today by filling out an online application form.

As a volunteer, or as a member, you’ll be helping to influence the outcome of elections, helping to set the future direction of government and will play an important part in the political process.
