Minister responsible for the establishment of an Anti-Corruption Commission
Andrew McIntosh was elected the member for Kew in 1999, and was re-elected in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
Andrew has lived in the Kew electorate most of his life. Raised in North Balwyn he attended Bellevue Primary School before going to secondary school at Melbourne Grammar. He then attended the Australian National University where he completed a Bachelor of Economics, before gaining a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania.
Prior to entering parliament Andrew was a lawyer. He was an Associate of a former Chief Justice of Victoria and then practiced as a barrister for nearly 14 years until his election in 1999.
Andrew takes pride in his community involvement and is a life member of the Ormond Ski Club. He has also had previously involvement with the Box Hill Institute of TAFE Council and the Victorian Bar Council.
In September 2002 Andrew was elevated to the frontbench as Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations and was also appointed Shadow Attorney General in December 2002. From 2006 until 2009, Andrew served as the Shadow Minister for Police and Emergency Services. Andrew was also Shadow Minister for Corrections, Crime Prevention, Integrity of Government and Freedom of Information, as well as being the Manager of Opposition Business in the Legislative Assembly.
Following the election of the Baillieu Government, Andrew became the Minister for Corrections, Minister for Crime Prevention and the Minister responsible for the establishment of an anit-corruption commission.
